COMPETITION
RULES
(Gentlemen & Ladies)
(Rules 6 & 10 are not applicable to the Ladies)
1.
Once the draw has been made no alteration or addition will
be allowed.
2.
To avoid hold-ups on the course every endeavour should be
made by slower players to speed up play.
3.
In all knockout competitions the rounds must be played by
the given dates. The only exception to this rule could be illness,
when the committee might consider an
extension of the time limit.
4.
In all knockout competitions,
it is the responsibility of the first named player to contact his/her
opponent and agree on a date and time. It would be advisable
to play the match early on in each round so that sufficient time
is left to arrange a replay within the time where necessary - bad
weather, etc. Failure to play by the nominated date may mean one
or both players being eliminated. Players
must be prepared to play at any reasonable time, not just weekends.
5.
Lateness on the Tee.
In competitions where starting times have been published, a competitor
who is up to 5 minutes late will be penalised 2 shots. After 5 minutes
he will be disqualified.
6.
Members who fail to turn up at the correct tee-time without
an acceptable reason may incur a penalty of suspension from two
following individual competitions.
Any further failure in the same season will result in suspension
from four competitions.
7.
All cards (including no returns) must be placed in the Competition
Box provided. Cards left in places other than the Competition Box
will not be accepted.
8.
All knockout competitions are on a sudden death basis with
strokes taken again on the appropriate holes, the second time around.
9.
Competition prize winners are expected to attend the prize
presentations. Failure to attend without suitable apology is a discourtesy
to the Captain and the Committee reserve the right to withhold prizes
but not trophies from the prize winning members.
10.There
is no upper limit on handicaps in cup competitions and the best
nett of the day will
receive the trophy. However, all monthly medal competitions will
be played in two divisions 0/14 and 15/28 and prizes will be awarded
accordingly.
11.Members
playing in QUALIFYING COMPETITIONS at other courses, whether they
are members or not, MUST return cards to their home club - (Ladies
- All Cards; Men - H’Cap - 0-12 All scores; H’Cap 13-28 - Only scores
when CSS is broken). Failure to report scores returned (including
no returns) can lead to suspension of handicap.
